Without even a search warrant, Police has raided the National Unity Platform Party (NUP) offices in Kamwokya searched through election documents and walked away with all documents, security footage, red berrets and more.

NUP were holding a meeting of some of its top leaders when police arrived.

“The military, police and other security agencies have laid siege on the National Unity Platform Platform offices in Kamwokya. Several of our staff and leaders have been arrested. They are breaking into the different offices, taking all documents and other valuables,” said NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.

According to police sources, the operation at NUP locations targets all locations illegally manufacturing, supplying, distributing, selling and using uniforms and accouterments whose ownership and patented designs was gazetted and an exclusive preserve of the Armed Forces.

It should be remembered that the dress code for the Uganda People's Defence Force was gazetted last year, meaning all the marks, insignia, decorations, and uniforms are the property of the state or classified stores.
