Portuguese tactician Jorge Miguel Duarte Da Costa has been appointed the head coach of Libya's top flight entity Al Ittihad FC.

The former Vipers SC tactician who also guided them to a third top flight league trophy in 2018 has joined Libya's outfits following close to half a year while jobless.

Al Ittihad have been without a coach since last year when they parted company with former Black Leopards F.C coach Ivan Minnaert.

Jorge Miguel Duarte Da Costa was named Vipers head coach in March 2017 but was relieved of his duties at the Entebbe based Club in July 2018 two months after he had guided the Venoms to a third trophy.

At Vipers, he guided them to a Uganda Cup finals where they lost KCCA and also helped the side reach the semi finals of Kagame CECAFA Club Championship where they reached quarter finals.

Al-Ittihad Tripoli FC is the most successful team in the history of Libya. Al Ittihad is a Libyan football club based in Bab Ben Gashier, Tripoli, Libya.

They have won the Libyan Premier League 16 times, the Libyan Cup 7 times and the Libyan SuperCup 10 times.
