In the lunch hours of Tuesday 11th August, 2020, the "Tax collectors" have via their official facebook page announced the signing of former KCCA midfield maestro Jackson Nunda.
Nunda has inked a three year deal with the "Tax Collectors" till 2023. Upon arrival, he said to the club website; “I chose URA because it’s an ambitious team and I love the competitiveness in the club.”
“Of course, I don’t expect it to be a walk in the park as I have to compete for a place in the team. I am here to win trophies and give 100% for my new home, URA FC,” the midfielder added.
Nunda spent close to five years playing for the "garbage collectors" at Lugogo based Star Times Stadium but was recently released by the Mike Mutebi coached side due to the competitive defensive midfield that has Gift Ali, Nicolas Kasozi and new signing Dennis Iguma.
He becomes URA FC's first summer signing as the Sam Ssimbwa coached team looks to improve its last season's performance. The four time Uganda Premier league winners-URA FC finished 5th last season with 40 points from 10 wins, 10 draws and 5 losses.
The new season 2020/2021 is tentatively set to kick off on 17th October, 2020 given the healthy standards in the country normalise.
