All Fresh Updates From the Uganda Premier League Teams as they Beef up Squads

As the kick off date (17th October, 2020) of the Uganda Premier League season 2020/2021 draws nearer, Uganda Premier League (UPL) Clubs are beefing up squads as SC Villa signed defender Lukwago, Bright stars brought in striker Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo and Vipers filled the vacant CEO position at the club.

Reigning champions Vipers named Simon Peter Njuba as the new club CEO replacing Peter Lwanga who was relieved of his duties at the four time UPL champions earlier this year. The newly appointed CEO took office with immediate effect.

SC Villa who have had a crop of players depart the club have acquired the signature of defender Nasser Lukwago. Lukwago who captained Buddu saza team to a fourth place finish last season joins the sixteen time UPL champions on a two year contract and joins the department of captain Asuman Alishe, Moses Kigundu, Kizito Gavin Mugweri, Yayo Lutimba and Kibumba Ibrahim.

At Matugga, Bright stars brought in striker Samuel Kayongo Ssekamatte a former KCCA forward. Ssekamatte is well experienced having also played for Zambia’s Red Arrows FC, defunct sides Victoria University, Masaka LC and Kira Young.

In Mbarara, Big League side Nyamityobora FC extended the stay of club captain Clinton Kamugisha for further two years until 2022.

If the healthy standards in the country normalize, the new season will kick off on 17th October,2020.
