Newly promoted side Uganda People's Defense Forces (UPDF) FC have continued to strengthen their side with the recruitment of senior player and former Onduparaka midfielder Gaddafi Gadinho.

UPDF FC were promoted along with Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) as the Star Times Big League season 2019/2020 was prematurely ended due to the persistent COVID-19 pandemic.

The new recruit joins the earlier signings in James Begisa (Proline), Ibrahim Wamannah (Proline), goalkeeper Tonny Kyamera (Express),Ronnie Kisekka (free agent), Juma Ssebadduka and John Ssemazzi (Sun Rise of Rwanda), and Simon Mbaziira (Police).

The club had also extended the contracts of Douglas Kisembo and Andrew Waiswa. The soldiers are beefing up their squad in a bid to succeed in staying in the country's football top division they last played in in the 2016/2017.

The league is according to the FUFA Executive Committee tentatively scheduled to kick off on 17th October, 2020 if the healthy status in the country eases.
