FIFA Accepts to Give Out 1.5 Billion Dollars COVID-19 Relief Plan to FUFA

Blizz Uganda has collected for you what transpired on Thursday 25th June, 2020 in the meeting held via video conference.

The world's football governing body, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations-FIFA, convened on Thursday 25th, June 2020 via video conferencing and approved among others, the COVID-19 relief plan in which all FIFA member associations are to receive USD 1.5b.

The unanimous decision reached up on by the FIFA administration is aimed at giving money to the affiliated members to help their football communities during this COVID-19 pandemic era that has left the footballers entity starving.

FIFA also approved the updated Regulations for the Olympic Football Tournaments of Tokyo 2020 relating them to the new dates of 21st July to 7th August 2021 and the adoption of the VAR system.

No changes were made upon the eligibility rules for players taking part in the men’s tournament (i.e. players born on or after 1 January 1997, with the exception of a maximum of three players per participating team).

The other big issue reached upon was the selection of Australia and New Zealand as hosts of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
