Masaza Cup Update: Busujju Names Frank Mulindwa As New Head Coach

As Masaza Cup 2020 nears, Busujju are the latest side to name their head coach to take them through this year’s tournament. Busujju Saza chief titled “Kasujju” Mark Jjingo Kaberenge II has hired the services of Frank Mulindwa to help his side secure a first trophy.

Frank Mulindwa is well known for nurturing young talents and regional football knowledge. He is currently at the helm of Royal Giant High School in Mityana with whom he won the District and Region Championships in 2018. With him at the helm of the school, Royal Giant have been able to qualify for the National Copa Coca Cola annual schools’ tourment, qualifying in, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019. missing out only in 2017.

His antics in regional football has seen him win the Buganda regional trophy in 2014, 2015, 2016,2017 and 2018. With this experience in regional football, he’s thought to have a connection to many regional players who are legible to play in this competition.

Busujju’s highest feat in Masaza cup is a third place finish in 2016 and 2018. In 2016, they beat Kyaggwe in post match penalties after a one all stalemate in normal time. In 2018, they beat Buwekula to FC to finish third. In 2016, they had recruited nearly all players who won the trophy a year before with Singo.

The appointment means most of the counties have now hired coaches to take them through the tournament scheduled for June if all goes well. Buwekula recently name Coach Kafeero “Capello” Robert , Ssingo named former Vipers coach Edward Golola, Gomba lions named Ibrahim Kirya, Gen. Salim Saleh’s side and defending Champions Bulemeezi retained winning coach Simon Mugerwa, Buddu named 2016 winning coach steven Bogere, Buluuli secured the services of former Busiro coach Noah Mugerwa as last year’s runners up Busiro hired Paul “Kiwa” Kiwanuka whereas Mawogola named Simon “Ddunga” Ddungu.
