Today, Blizz Uganda brings to you Uganda Premier League Top scorers since the league started in 1968/1969 to-date.
The most interesting about the story is defender Jimmy Kirunda who won the boot in 1978 hitting a record 32 goals for a defender in the league. Martin Muwanga (Police FC) and Robert Ssentongo (Simba FC) won the top scorer's gong in 2005 with the least number of goals for a topscorer in 2005.
Andrew "Fimbo" Mukasa who won the boot in 1999 with 45 goals playing for SC Villa, holds the record for the most goals in a single season in Uganda's top tier. The figures for who won the boot in the seasons: 1968-69,1970, and 1972 are not certain but it is provided that John Owubwe (Simba FC) , Erickson Matega (Express) and Pascal Luwaga (Express) were the top scorers in the respective seasons.
KCCA FC have produced the highest number of top scorers (11) followed by Express who have ten (10) and Villa is third with nine (9). Robert Ssentongo and Majid Musisi both tied on four boots hold the record for most boots.
