Word has been going around claiming that Major General Kasirye Gwanga has been arrested in Mbunya Police station but the retired has been rushed to the hospital.
The Uganda People’s Defence Forces has come out to deny reports that Maj Gen (Rtd) Kasirye Gwanga has been arrested as reports had indicated that Kasirye Gwanga was detained at Mbuya, when he returned guards who had been sent to him.
According to the UPDF Spokesman Brig Richard Karemire, the reports are speculative, as he Kasirye Gwanga is not under any form or arrest.
“Kasirye Gwanga has been admitted to the UPDF Senior Officers Diagnostic Centre based in Mbuya. Doctors are taking care of him and there is no reason to speculate on his current whereabouts. He is not under any form of arrest,”- Brig Karemire said on twitter.

Kasirye has been in the news recently for beating up people in Mityana that he claims had failed to adhere to presidential directives and speculation is rife that he could be detained in Mbuya for beating up civilians just like.
Kasirye is a decorated UPDF soldier now retired and has been a strong supporter of the current government.He was recently promoted to the rank of Major General and retired.
