At blizz Uganda, we predicted the title winner at the start of the season and we are still on truck. We predicted Vipers to have an upper hand at the expense of KCCA FC, URA FC etc and the Entebbe based side still leads the table. With five matches to the end of the season, we take you through the remaining five fixtures for the title contenders i.e Vipers, KCCA, SC Villa, see who has the most clear path.
To start with is SC Villa; the record champions stand third on the table with 46 points from 13 wins, 7 draws, 5 losses and are eight points adrift of leaders Vipers. It looks like a smaller gap but a look at their remaining fixtures, gives them less if not totally no hopes for a title in 15 years. SC Villa’s remaining fixtures include: KCCA FC (H),Mbarara City (A),Kyetume (H),Maroons(H), Wakiso Giants (A).
KCCA FC are the other title contenders standing second on the table only four points adrift of leaders Vipers SC. They have won 15, lost 5 and drawn 5 with 50 points. Their hopes lies on Vipers inconsistence though their remaining fixtures look more difficult compared to the Kitende based side’s fixtures. The Kasasiro Boys have had a better form in the last five matches than Vipers but still have to show an extra ordinary performance remaining fixtures as Vipers slip. KCCA FC’s remaining fixtures; SC Villa (A), Busoga United (H),Wakiso giants (A), Onduparaka (A), BUL (H).
Despite the competitiveness of the league, the Venoms still remain the bogey side of all the title contenders, topping the table with 54 points, four and eight points above second and third placed sides respectively. A look at Vipers’ remaining five fixtures, you can conclude that the Kitende based side has the simplest fixtures and one can conclude that at Blizz Uganda, we were correct when we predicted Vipers to win this season’s trophy. Their remaining fixtures include; Busoga United (H),Tooro United (A),Bright Stars (H),Express (A),Police (H).
