The StarTimes Uganda premier league continues on Thursday 5th March 2020 with a relegation battle between hosts Maroons FC and Express FC at Luzira Prison Grounds , Luzira.
The encounter binds two sides whose safety is yet to be guaranteed. Express are 12th on the table with 28 points six above relegation whereas Maroons are 13th with 24 points, two above relegation and are on a four match losing streak. The Lugazi side has not won a match since a 2:0 triumph over BUL FC on 18th January 2020.
Express have since the acquisition of Coach Wasswa Bbosa breathed sigh of relief with wins over Onduparaka, Tooro United, drawing against KCCA and a loss to a 1:2 to URA the disappointment since the gaffer arrived. Express FC coach comes into the game on finer form as compared to Maroons Douglas Bamweyana whose position at the club is most likely to come to an end with a loss today.
Taking a look at Express FC’s next five matches to the end of the season, the Red Eagles will definitely need to win today’s match as it seems simpler compared the other fixtures ahead of them. Express’ next fixtures include a fixture at home against Wakiso Giants, a trip to Bright Stars, BUL (H), and Vipers (A), and Kyetume (H).
Maroons too need to revive their survival hopes in this match as their next five opponents don’t seem that easy to take on. Maroons have, Police (A), Kyetume (A), URA (H), SC Villa (A) and Mbarara City (H). the match seems destined for a draw.
