Vipers SC has now hired 14 coaches in the last 14 years and the changes have yielded only three titles with the last two titles coming in the last 6 years in which they have had the likes of Edward Golola (two stints), Michael "Nam" Ouma, Jorge Miguel Da costa, and Xavier Espinoza, averaging a coach per year.

Their closest title rivals for the last decade KCCA FC have had only two changes in the coaching staff for the last six years but have won four trophies, 2013/2014, 2015/2016, 2016/2017, 2018/2019.

Here a question arises whether regular changes in the coaching staff at Vipers have a had a positive impact at the club or their are another problems to be sorted.

It seems the club President, Lawrence Mulindwa is impatient with his coaches and this has deprived his club of the chance to build an identity or philosophy at St.Mary's Stadium. A case in point was Jorge Miguel Da Costa who was sacked even after winning the league but the club's poor performance on the continent cost the Portuguese tactician his job. However, had he stayed, he would have built a more stable platform the next season to have better performance but was sacked after only one season.

The same case applies to Edward Golola, despite being outmatched by Kajjansi FC at the round of 64 in the Stanbic Uganda, the tactician who guided the Venoms to their 2nd league title in 2015 and the third in 2017/2018 as an assistant coach, had this time around set his club as a favourite for this season's league title setting a four points lead over KCCA after 18 matches.

The lack of patient by club president Lawrence Mulindwa will leave no space for a club to build a philosophy and without a style of play it will be difficult for any club to conquer.

Sam Kajjoba was this weekend unveiled as the new club head coach along with goalkeeping coach Ibrahim Mugisha to replace the sacked Edward Golola. The former was sacked at Bright Stars in July 2019 with the club asserting the gaffer had limited time for his club duties committing most of his time at the national duty where he dubs as the goalkeeping coach.

The club also noted that the tactician lacked respect for the hierarchy and also accused him of losing the Uganda cup finals to Big league side Proline FC 5:4 in post match penalties following a one a draw.

If Kajjoba failed at Bright Stars, can he be the solution to Vipers high demands with limited patience?
