The StarTimes Uganda Premier League leaders Vipers SC will look to extend their lead at the summit with their first match of the second round against Kyetume FC today at St.Mary's Stadium, Kitende.
The Kitende based side finished the first round with 36 points from 11 wins, 3 draws and one loss and will look up to their star forward Fahad Bayo who finished the first round second on the top scorer's sheet with nine goals one shy of top scorer Steven Mukwala of Maroons.
The Venoms come into this match knowing that their rivals KCCA FC won the match against Mbarara City and reduced the four points gap to one therefore a win by the Edward Golola side is much desirable.
Vipers will still miss the services of new acquisition but Old boy Mohammed Shaban who missed the first round due injury, Livingstone Mulondo, Bashir Asiku and Abraham Nduggwa all through injuries but Bobos Byaruhanga will have to pass a late fitness test.
League debutants Kyetume FC lost the first round match to the Venoms 2:1 at Namboole but will be visiting a place where fellow debutants Proline FC and Wakiso Giants all fell prey to Vipers' fierceness.
The match also comes at the right moment for new signing Paul "Mucu" Mucureezi to make his debut. The attacking midfielder cum forward joined the club on a free transfer deal from Mbarara city a week ago after his one year contract with the Ankole lions had expired.
