For those who were watching the station last night, Rita bid farewell to viewers during her final news bulletin at the station.
She was joined by her colleagues who presented her with a bouquet as a token of appreciation for her contribution to the team during her time at the Serena-based station.
After all that, she has now gone to her social media and given her official statement.
"OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Over the last five years, it has been an immense honour starting mornings with you on Morning at NTV, giving you lunch updates of the days' stories and winding down the evening with the news in detail on NTV Tonight.
You have given me space to learn, grow and made me part of your home, the waiting area and between your schedules on your phone.
I have learned a great deal about the communities we report in and I'm proud to have served to bring their stories to the forefront of national news.
Last night, I anchored my last bulletin with NTV and will now work my last days with the Nation Media Group.
I'm proud of what we've achieved together and wish the very best to the hardworking team I leave behind in the
newsroom.I'll start a new career journey in the coming month and I'm very excited for it.
"For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven."
