"Either Pay Me Back UGx. 750 Million or Never Perform Again Anywhere in Uganda"- Abitex Warns Serena Bata

Renown music promoter and political activist Abbey Musinguzi aka Abitex has sent out a serious warning to his former artiste Serena Bata asking her to either pay back all the money he injected into her career, or face prison if she ever performs again anywhere in the country.

Through a Notice put up on his Facebook page, Abbey notified singer Serena Bata to pay him sum of 750 million Shillings for continuing to perform his song.

The songs in question are; Bikalubye jointly recorded with Chris Evans, Single and It’s Okay, Rukundo recorded and sung with Ray G, Ewange recorded and sung with Geosteady, Ebisenge recorded and sung with Peace Lalisa, Gwantama recorded and sung with Nina Rose, Ofunye omusoga jointly sung with Yaled,, and Omulala.

"NOTICE!!!

I Abbey Musinguzi aka Abtex Promotions notify every Promoter, Media house, and Media personality not to play at any one time the following songs, associated with Serena Bata, which are ;

Bikalubye jointly recorded with Chris Evans, Single and It's Okay, Rukundo recorded and sung with Ray G, Ewange recorded and sung with Geosteady, Ebisenge recorded and sung with Peace Lalisa, Gwantama recorded and sung with Nina Rose, Ofunye omusoga jointly sung with Yaled,, and Omulala, which are all registered with Uganda Services Bureau as the property of Abbey Musinguzi aka Abtex Promotions.

Serena Bata is free to perform the songs she recorded with her old management, but is prohibited by law from performing any of the aforementioned songs.

Any person who will breach this directive shall face the long arm of the law."- reads Abitex's warning.

Abtex Promotions has sued Serena Bata in the courts of law through his lawyers at Lukwagon& Co .Advocates for continuing to perform the songs after she prematurely terminated their contract .The contract in violation was signed by Serena Bata in December 2020 but was terminated less than one year later in November 2022 according to the notice letter seen by our website .

Serena Bata signed a contract with another management and started performing songs owned by Abtex “without remitting the required sum” to him.

It is said that Serena Bata’s action allegedly accused damages and liabilities for which Abitex now demands shs 300,000,000.
